Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I'd describe my style as varying from very loud accent pieces to florals, to more high fashion, to 70s school girl. Sometimes a combination of all of those things. Basically, I'm all over the place haha.

Q: What are your staple items? Is there something that you couldn't live without?

A: Something I wear all the time are black leggings as pants. I don't care what anyone says, they're totally pants. Some other things I wear all the time is a grey cardigan that I actually took out of my grandfather's closet. It's super comfy and goes with almost everything. Also I have a pair of black, ripped tights that I wear all the time too!

Q: When you wake up in the morning, how do you decide what you're going to wear?

A: Sometimes I just know what I want to wear, like a feeling before hand. Kind of like inspiration striking. However, sometimes I have no idea and I just put on ten different outfits until I just decide to go with pants and a shirt, haha.

Q: Are there any inspirations for your style?

A: Mostly my friends' style inspires me! I see what they wear and try to put my own twist on it. I think that's why my outfits are all so different. My main inspiration is my friend Janelle, who is a model and has tons of awesome clothes.

Q: What do you feel most comfortable wearing?

A: Usually I feel most comfortable in pants of some kind and a button-down!

Q: What are your favorite brands/stores?

A: When I feel like spending money, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21 are my go-to's. But mostly, Mega Thrift is my best friend! All of my favorite pieces are from there.

Q: What accessories do you always seem to pair with your outfits? (watches, etc.)

A: I'm not a big jewelry person, so I just have a pewter tiger skull necklace and a little black choker with a moon on it. They go with everything I have. I have some earrings and stuff, but the main thing I wear is my grandfather's watch. It's like 80 years old and I feel pretty naked when I go out without it.

Q: What advice do you have for others that would like to achieve a similar style?

A: Go with your heart! Never underestimate the power of variety and pick things that will go with a lot of different clothes you already own. I'm not a big neon or bright colors person. I tend to stick to neutrals and more earth tones/pastels/cremes/darker colors. Very little of the colors in my wardrobe "scream" at you.

Q: What song would you like to go along with your post?

A: Busy Earnin' by Jungle is my favorite song right now, so that works!

Q: How does your style change throughout the year?

A: Not much changes except I put away shorts and break out tights. I layer a lot more. The sweaters come out too. I don't really listen to the "no White after labor day" or "no florals" in winter thing because I think it's stupid. Also, I will wear tank tops at any time of year! Haha.

Q: Do you have any style icons?

A: I don't really have any style icons! Like I said, most of my fashion inspiration comes from my friends, so maybe they're my icons ;)

Q: Is there a favorite color that you always end up incorporating into your outfit? (i.e. you always end up wearing a lot of black or blue)

A: I definitely wear a lot of black. There's no denying that it looks good on everyone! White and grey also make major appearances. Also maroon and mustard.

Q: If we could go through your family photos and see a photo documentary of your style phases, which style phase would be the most embarrassing? We’ve all had them!

A: Haha, in middle school I went through an emo kid phase! Complete with arm warmers, black plaid, corsets, and band tees.
