How would you describe your style?

Man, that's a good one. I would say it's functional and comfortable. I used to be very into looking good at the expense of my comfort. Not so much these days. My soul dress code is hipster-casual.

What are your staple items? Is there something that you couldn't live without?

I love henleys. I ironically quote a certain GQ article about them making any man look good when people ask me why I buy so many of them, but I secretly buy into that pretty hard. Also, a good pair of chinos and a nice watch can get you anywhere in life.

When you wake up in the morning, how do you decide what you're going to wear?

Honestly I ask myself "If someone posted a picture of me in this and I stumbled on it, would I get depressed?"

Are there any inspirations for your style?

As a Californian, I'm very inspired by west coast living. I cuff my pants no matter what season It is.

What do you feel most comfortable wearing?

I've simplified my wardrobe so that pretty much everything I wear is really, well, wearable. An open buttoned denim shirt, white pocket tee and jeans is my usual go to outfit these days.

What are your favorite brands/stores?

I'm in love with UNQILO. It's a Japanese brand that has started to make its way into the states. They focus on the basics, very much so like American Apparel but closer to H&M prices without falling apart like H&M.

What accessories do you always seem to pair with your outfits? (watches, etc.)

I always have to have a watch on. Always.

What advice do you have for other guys that would like to achieve a similar style?

Find a good tailor. It makes a difference. Even if you cuff your pants/jeans, take them in if need be and get them hemmed. It makes a world of difference in your appearance and confidence.

How does your style change throughout the year?

For better or for worse it stays EXACTLY THE SAME. This is becoming a bad thing living on the east coast. I might actually have to buy some winter clothes?

Do you have any style icons?

DARGD - Do as Ryan Gosling Does

Is there a favorite color that you always end up incorporating into your outfit? (i.e. you always end up wearing a lot of black or blue)

Grey. grey. And more grey.

If we could go through your family photos and see a photo documentary of your style phases, which style phase would be the most embarrassing? We’ve all had them!

Oh lord. I used to think Abercrombie and Fitch was amazing. I remember one year to school I wore two polos at once..... WITH the collars popped. Someone kill freshman year me, please.
